Born and raised in New Jersey, Tom S. Schurr has always been naturally funny. His father, a lawyer, thought Tom was so funny that he made him go to law school. To be closer to the entertainment business, Tom moved to Los Angeles and became an entertainment lawyer. But Tom really wanted to be a comedian, so, following in his own footsteps, he began performing in comedy clubs. In addition to performing stand-up at clubs and corporate and charity events, Tom also wrote and performed the one-man shows Short, Horny and Pissed and Failure Is An Option.
